FOSSIL COLLECTIONS

FOSSILS

Unearthing our past,
one fossil,
one adventure,
at a time

Fossils,

from the latin word fossilis

meaning

to be dug up

Fossils connect us with the past.

Fossils are preserved remains, or traces of ancient organisms.

Fossils form when an organism is quickly buried by sediment, slowing decomposition. Over time, minerals seep into the sediment, replacing the organic material and turning it to stone.

All fossils in our collection have been found and prepared by Karl Raubenheimer.

New Zealand Fossils highlight the Oceanic seafloor our continent once was. We find many cretaceous and miocene era fossils, ranging from 5 million - to 200 million years old.

Whether you are an avid collector or looking for a unique gift or collection piece. Owning your own piece of geological history is always a great talking point.
